PUBLIC NOTICE – EBERLY AGRICULTURAL SERVICE AREA
Notice is hereby given that on April 14, 2025 the Greene Township Board of Supervisors received requests for the addition of three properties into the Greene Township Agricultural Security Area. These requests were submitted by Daniel and Carol Eberly for a 36.19 acre parcel located off of Woodstock Road identified as Franklin County Tax U.P.I. # 09-0C18.-042.-000000 and Linford and Jessica Eberly for two parcels located off of Woodstock Road identified as Franklin County Tax U.P.I. #’s 09-0C18.-149.-000000 (41.55 acres) and 09-0C19.-044.-000000 (86.56 acres). The three properties are contiguous and together total approximately 164.3 acres in area. The properties meet the criteria for land proposed for inclusion into the Greene Township Agricultural Security Area program. Soils listed by the Natural Resources Conservation Service Soil Survey for the three parcels are classed as prime farmland, farmland of statewide importance, farmland of local importance or unique farmland. These requests will be put on file open to public review between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the offices of the Greene Township Board of Supervisors, 1145 Garver Lane, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Comments regarding the requests will be accepted within 15 days of publication of this notice. The Board of Supervisors will then act to adopt this proposal at a subsequent meeting of the Board. Upon adoption, the properties will be added to the map depicting the Greene Township Agricultural Security Areas.
